Management Team

Tom Volick, has been involved with staffing engineering teams since 1978. He started his career with one of the largest engineering and construction companies in Houston as a corporate recruiter then worked on the agency side during the oil boom in the early 1980s, placing chemical and petroleum engineers.

 

In 1983 he started placing IT professional and in the mid-1980s he was involved with executive level search on retained basis for companies throughout the United States. 

 

He then, as branch manager, became directly involved with one of the largest software development/contract programming companies in Austin, staffing in a timely cost-effective manner many new software development teams on a retained basis.

 

After co-founding NHRG in 1993 he became responsible for all new client development and leading the recruiting team in staffing many successful start-up companies in Austin, including Tivoli, Pervasive, Agere, Vignette, Waveset Technologies, Sailpoint, Baxter Planning Systems, Servigistics and NextGen HIS.  

 

Tom was retained by Ernest & Young Management Consulting in Indianapolis as Senior ERP Stafffing Consultant.  He worked onsite to recruit and screen senior level SAP personnel for one of the largest implementations of SAP at Ely Lilly & Company.  He worked directory with the E&Y Managemnt Consulting Practice Partner and his senior managers to recruit the best possible SAP personnel for this project in a timely and efficient manner.  

 

As a techncial staffing consultant to MCI/Worldcom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tom lead NHRG to place more IT/IS professionals than any other vendor for three years running, and was also responsible for putting a recruiting and screening process in place that enabled MCIWorldcom to meet its IT staffing objective of hiring 300 people for 50 different managers.

 

Retained by AB Watley, Tom lead NHRG to staff their new development team that would be responsible for the development of their web-enabled day trading systems. NHRG's interview to hire ratio was 2:1, and there has been a 90% retention factor of personnel placed at AB Watley.

 

While at NHRG, Tom has worked with several human resource and engineering departments to realign internal salaries in order to encompass new technology professionals who typically will have higher salaries than employees on staff.  

 

 

 

 

Marc Byers, received his MIS degree from the University of Texas. His career began in 1995 at NHRG as our System Administrator and research assistant. He became a recruiter in 1996 and then our Sr. Recruiting Manager in 1999 and Director of Technical Services and Recruiting in 2018. 

 

Because of his technical background he has been an integral part of our organization managing the recruitment on several retained assignments for new e-commerce startups.  He has become our software personnel expert providing our clients with excellent candidates and providing the leadership to train and mentor our new recruiters in the art of technical recruiting.
